Hi, my name is Eric and welcome to my fun publication – Leisure Flow!
Here is a little about me — in random order:
I am a real simple dude.
I enjoy living one day at a time.
I have 3 awesome boys — Simon (13), Theodore (11), Alvin (9) — ALVIN!!!…These aren’t their real names… We live in the DC metro region.
I love reading fiction thriller, science fiction, and some fantasy books. Brad Thor and Neil Gaiman are two of my favorite authors. I also enjoy spending time at the local library (I didn’t discover this activity until I was 30 years old since reading felt like such a chore to me, even in college).
I love watching movies and funny shows. Jason Statham is my favorite action star. Some of my favorite comedies include, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, Coming to America, Office Space, The Office, Napoleon Dynamite, and The King of Queens.
I enjoy playing video games with the kids even though they often kick my butt, unless it is Mortal Kombat and I get lucky by pushing all the buttons at once.
I’m a gym rat and I’m also a sports junkie.
I have no 5 year plan — I enjoy living in the moment.
My professional background is in marketing and sales. I love what I do.
I can’t stand when women call me ‘hun’ and when men call me ‘bud.’
I grew up in a Filipino household (my stepmother is from the Philippines). My stepmothers family came to the U.S. from the Philippines when I was seven (Lola, Lolo, Uncle’s and Aunt’s) and we all lived together. At one point there were 12 of us living in our makeshift/converted five bedroom (pretty common I suppose). We also had a 35 pound cat.
I like beer, red wine, smoking hookah, and Lay’s salt and vinegar chips.
I’m a bit of a cutup as I enjoy laughter and messing with people.
I somehow attract weird characters in my life. I must have a weirdo magnet on me.
I enjoy traveling, especially to places I’ve never been.
I love trying new foods. Some of my favorite dishes are from India, Pakistan, Philippines (of course), Japan, Peru, and Guatemala.
I enjoy going to Meetups each week. It’s fun meeting new people and re-connecting with some of the regulars.
I don’t have a lot of possessions and I try to keep as few bills as possible. I don’t like the feeling of having a ton of ‘life-weight’ weighing me down. I once had a bad experience that lasted for most of my twenties – I never want to re-live that again.
I don’t have Facebook . However, I do enjoy using Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn.
I like being me, and it seems as if each day I am discovering something new about myself, which is pretty cool.
This fun lifestyle publication is just a hobby for me. It is also a cool self-help tool as I learn and discover new tips and experiences, and I’m connecting with awesome like-minded people each day.
